Rhapsody based on the St. Louis Blues
Cette fantaisie comprend successivement un solo de flûte, un solo de hautbois, un blues lent interprétés par les bois, un passage dans le style big band, un tango et finalement un morceau de véritable musique de swing. Il y a un rôle pour une petite formation dixieland qui est notée dans les parties instrumentales. Les improvisations indispensables donnent un caractère de fête à cette pièce merveilleusement orchestrée.
